How to save public Facebook videos

Copy a public Facebook video or fb.watch link, paste it into GrablyMedia, and click Analyze. Downloads work only when Facebook’s public page includes a direct media URL — many videos are login-walled.

Quick tool

Ready to try it? Use the Facebook Video Downloader or the main downloader.

Public videos only

Facebook often requires login to view content. GrablyMedia can only analyze URLs that load in a browser without authentication. Page videos set to Public have the best chance of success.

Get the video link

Tap Share → Copy link on the video post, or copy the URL from facebook.com/watch?v=… or fb.watch/… short links.

Analyze on GrablyMedia

Paste into the Facebook video downloader or homepage tool. If Facebook exposes og:video or embed sources in public HTML, formats will appear. Otherwise you will see an unavailable-media message.

When Facebook blocks access

Groups, profiles, and friends-only posts frequently block public metadata. GrablyMedia cannot bypass Facebook login or privacy settings.

  • Try opening the link in a private window first.
  • Public Pages and Watch URLs work more often than profile posts.
  • Do not use downloaded videos without permission from the rights holder.
